Sabina Bockemühl, born in Solingen in 1966, immersed herself in the world of art from an early age, encouraged by her father, the versatile artist Hans Jürgen Richartz. After graduating from high school, she followed her passion and continued her education at art colleges in Düsseldorf, Trier, Münster and Barcelona. A formative chapter of her career was her studies with renowned artists such as Prof. Markus Lüpertz and Ricci von Riggenbach, who had a lasting influence on her style in free painting and portrait painting. With these impressions and further training in urban art and trompe-l'oeil painting, she laid the foundation for her own style.
Bockemühl combines neo-expressionism, abstract pop realism and urban street art in her works to create a unique signature. Her art stands out through the interplay of two- and three-dimensional structures, which captivate the eye in bright colors and plastic compositions. For Sabina, art is a way to reveal the essential and to represent the uniqueness of people.
Whether she is interpreting landscapes or creating her famous character heads, her work invites us to rediscover the familiar and see the beauty in the unexpected.
Today, Sabina Bockemühl lives and works in the picturesque town of Murnau am Staffelsee, and also draws inspiration from her studio in Mallorca. Her works have received national and international acclaim, with exhibitions in renowned museums and galleries and sales figures that prove her worldwide popularity. For Sabina Bockemühl, art is a vital expression of her connection to nature and people, through which she touches and inspires her audience.
