La Bohème – Auction

Description

Inspired by song lyrics that I encounter while painting, a LebensStücke series about youth, love and life has been created.

“La Bohème” is the first of five paintings.

It was a long time ago, you no longer know the time
with your 20 years.
Montmartre was in May, we were young and free
and at the windows we already saw the lilacs blooming
the time is long gone when we were so happy,
My stomach was so empty and you were my model,
that was long ago.

La Boheme, la Boheme, that’s la vie, one way or another
La Boheme, la Boheme, on dry bread in love and happy

Often I did not fall asleep at night and painted all alone
your picture in my dreams.
You were so young and beautiful, that’s how I saw you
and still at dawn I dream in the studio
with a latte of life and love.
We didn’t ask for money
love and fame that was the world for us.

La Boheme, la Boheme, that means we were 20 years old.
La Boheme, la Boheme, and this time was wonderful
La Boheme, la Boheme, young and in love, it’s been a long time…
